Women’s High School Pole Vault

It looks like the Women’s High School Pole Vault this 2022 track season is going to be a hot one!  There are 19 entries presently listed in the top-25 in the HS list.  The youth are on a terror in the list so far.  Sophomore Kourtney Rathke of Peak to Peak just moved into the #11 spot at the ATB 550 pole vault meet #2 in Louisville with a 12-7 1/2 (12-18-2021).  At this point in time junior Megan Kelleghan of Silver Creek is at #3 all-time at 13-4 1/2, sophomore Lilly Nichols of Broomfield is at the #5 spot with a 13-3 1/2, sophomore Anna Willis of The Classical Academy and the Willis clan is at #6 with a 13-3.  Her sisters who have graduated occupy #1 Andrea (13-9), and #9 Erika (12-9).  It takes a vault of 12-6 to make the list.  There are two seniors presently at 12-3 who just might vault into the list.  Katie Wrona of Liberty Common and Emma Chicco of Rocky Mountain.  Every year out of no wear someone comes out of the woodwork and does a great job.  I hope this year that is what happens, and the last six spots of the Top-25 get filled.  Come on girls!!

I said in the last blog I would list the six sprinters that have made all four lists. They are Jon Prather (Cortez/ CU Buff), Joe Morris (Golden/ CU Buff), Jeremy Dodson (George Washington/ CU Buff), Ann Holland (Regis/ CU Buff), Lauren Gale (Discovery Canyon/ Colorado State), Marybeth Sant (Valor Christian/ Colorado State).

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

GOD Bless
