TIMING:

The automatic times (listed in 100ths) which make the lists have been placed in a position of correspondingly higher value in relation to hand times, which are listed in 10ths (I.e., .24 added to anything under one lap 100m, 100y, 200, 110h, etc., .14 to 400m). In the 100y, 100m, 200, 100 and 110 meter hurdles, triple and long jump markes with wind exceeding 2.0 meters per second (4.473 mph) are put in the windaided section. The NWI (no wind information) also appears in the windaided section. No windgauge reading, no legal mark.

CONVERSIONS:

Track & Field News has adopted a policy of converting yards to meters (or vise versa) based upon a ratio between the equivalent yard and metric distrance (I.e., 200m to 220y, 400m to 440y, etc.). Therefore, all conversions from yards to meters use the ratio .994194 multiplied by the time (in seconds). The resultant number is then rounded to the next higher tenth or hundrenth of a second depending upon the timing systems used. This produces conversions, which is in most cases, are identical to those used for many years (I.e. 220y to 220m, -.1; 440y to 400m, -.3, etc.). For conversions from meters to yards, use the ratio 1.00584.
