CTS Top10’s before Conference Meets

The third weekend of February produces some big CTS top 10 marks just before the many conference meets that are to come this upcoming weekend.  The following are the new marks,

Parker Wolfe, Cherry Creek HS/Nike ran away from his completion in the 5000 meters in now the #2 time in the After-HS list, blazing a 12:59.09.  Wolfe defeated the #1 athlete in the CTS After-HS list, in the race, William Kincaid, Columbine HS/Nike 12:51.61 in 2023. Kincaid finished the race in 13:30.30 for 3rd.  A couple more marks for the After-HS list, Connor McCormick, Longmont HS/Princeton U. enroute 1500 for #8 3:39.01.  Kourtney Rathke, Peak to Peak HS/Michigan U. vaulted to #9 in the After-HS list with a 13-8 1/4.

There were a couple huge CTS Soil marks this last weekend in Boulder.  Avery Pearson, Colorado U. flew around the CU indoor track in the 800 meters in a 2:00.76 for the #1 mark on the Colorado Soil List!  Paul Knight, Durango HS/Colorado Mines U. ran an 8:03.75 in the 3000 meters for the #2 mark.  Grady Rauba, Niwot HS/Colorado U. ran an 8:08.37 and nailed down #5 on the Soil List.

On the CTS College/University list, Avery Pearson, Colorado U. in that 2:00.76 race in Boulder ended up #3 in this list.  The two women ahead of her are Sage Hurta, Colorado U. (2:00.08 in 2021) and Wendy Knudson/koenig, Estes Park HS/Colorado State U. with one of the oldest marks in the CTS lists, 1:59.91 in the 1976 Olympics.

In the CTS High School list, Ethan Rathke, Peak to Peak HS secured his #8 position in the pole vault with a 16-7 in winning the Simplot Games in Pocatello Idaho.  Ethan and Kourtney…brother and sister??
